Fundraising Outcomes

Through the fantastic efforts of the Mo Bros, Mo Sistas and the generosity of the Australian public Movember has raised over $23 million dollars in its four years as a formal fundraiser. The funds raised by the Movmber campaign are donated to The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue - the national depression initiative so that they may reach their aims of improving the state of men's health.

The specific outcomes and programs underway as a result of the funds raised by Movember 2007 in Australia will be updated shortly.

beyondblue
The funds donated by Movember to beyondblue are being used on:

- Supporting the beyondblue info line, a 24 hour depression telephone service to provide information and referral services which is specifically targeting men in rural areas
- Funding new research into the association between depression and men's cancers (testicular and prostate cancer)
- Funding Indigenous Men's Sheds in seven locations nationally providing information on depression and support services
- Reprinting 30,000 copies of John Ashfield's book 'Taking Care of Yourself and your Family' which beyondblue gives away for free.  This book will be targeting rural / farming men and their families, particularly those in drought-affected areas.
